Gallery One
GALLERY ONE PRESENTS,
ART ON 3
This group show of artists’ works opens Sunday, September 12 following the service in Fellowship Hall. Many in this group have been painting with Diane Cogswell since the mid- 1990s. These Geauga County Senior Center artists have created a fluid and relaxed group who gather weekly to paint in a variety of media and techniques. The word “fluid” figures significantly because watercolor was the original starting point. As time went on, members “followed a different and crooked path to see what direction their work might take,” says Diane. She added, “If it is wet we have tried or will try it.”
Every session together involves independent artists working side-by-side, sometimes starting from a single trigger of an idea or technique; other times each on an individual pursuit. Their fluid agenda (if in fact a group of working artists can be said to have an “agenda”) often takes them on field trips to museums, galleries and art shows in search of new ideas and inspiration. This creative camaraderie is the source of this show. Please join in with enjoying the creative spirit and the path this fellowship has taken.
